The two-year anniversary

It seems strange to start a new blog on a two-year anniversary, but here it is.

For the past two years, I have portrayed Mistress Mercy Riggs Hawkins as a docent at the General David Humphreys House in Ansonia, CT.   I am not the first docent to portray Mercy and will not be the last, but in a small big way she has crept into my life and I feel akin to her.

It also is a bit strange to begin this blog that will largely deal with my Colonial alter ego when I am in the position of potentially leaving this job to get a full-time job if my husband is not able to find employment.  Regardless, I think Mercy will still be part of my life. Ultimately my goal, however, is not to embody the late Mercy Riggs Hawkins of Derby, but to live up to her name, living in the mercy of Jesus Christ and to show that mercy to others.

Meanwhile, lets bake some pies, swear sew some Colonial clothing, share some research, and pray.

Thanks for reading.
